Steven Weiss is a staff attorney in the Alameda County office of Bay Area Legal Aid, and their Social Security & SSI Advocacy Regional Coordinator, specializing in administrative advocacy with the Social Security Administration. Prior to working at Bay Area Legal Aid, Mr. Weiss was a staff attorney at the Homeless Action Center in Berkeley, California. He is 1998 graduate of the Golden Gate University School of Law, and received his B.A. from the State University of New York at Buffalo in Urban Public Policy Administration.
Genevieve Richardson is the Director of Pro Bono Activities for Bay Area Legal Aid (BayLegal), the San Francisco Bay Area’s largest provider of free civil legal services to the poor. Ms. Richardson oversees BayLegal’s pro bono program throughout the Bay Area. She develops and coordinates pro bono opportunities and trains and recruits attorneys to provide much needed pro bono assistance to expand access to the civil justice system for low-income families. She also works on a regional and statewide basis to address systemic poverty and inequality issues, including as a member of the Board of Directors of the Legal Aid Association of California. A graduate of the University of Colorado School of Law, Ms. Richardson is also a Family Law and Immigration Attorney, specializing in Domestic Violence.
